At TechPros we aim to give you the tools to accelerate your learning to prepare for the future. Where traditional learning programs offer you a set curriculum that you study by yourself and give you a certificate at the end for having completed a certain number of lessons, we offer you the opportunity to put together your own roadmap, work in a team on a product or application, and become a part of our ever-growing learning community. You will get help and advice from our mentors, who are all experts in their fields.
The program
We offer a 12-week program, consisting of two parts: the learning phase (4 weeks) and the project phase (8 weeks). During the learning phase, you will spend a couple of weeks familiarizing yourself with the topic you have chosen through online resources that we provide you. You will put together your own learning plan based on how much experience you have and what your learning goals are. We have plenty of resources to get you started, and you are free to choose your own resources too! We will have weekly events where you will have the opportunity to collaborate with mentors and your project team offline or online.
After the first four weeks, you will get started on your project, together with your team. Teams can consist of people from the same track or from different tracks; that’s up to you. Together, you will build a product or an application, based on your interests and what you want to change in the world. During the project phase, you will continue your learning, but you will be able to tailor your learning to what is needed for your project.
At the end of the project phase, you and your team will present your product or application at the in-person graduation ceremony.
Mentors
To help you during your learning journey, we have mentors who will be available to share their knowledge and passion for the field with you. They will help you with the course materials and give you advice on what to learn and how to build your project. Each track has dedicated mentors and we will all work together in both online and offline sessions.
Tracks
At TechPros, we have three tracks: Web Development, Data Science, and AI/Deep Learning. The tracks are set up in a way that you can start from wherever you are. Are you starting from scratch on the topic you have chosen? Then we will give you a roadmap to learn the basics. More experienced already? We will help you choose your next steps to learn.
Data Science
Data is shaping our future. It’s become an integral part of every industry, not just technology. Understanding how to analyze and interpret data is no longer optional; it’s an essential skill. In our Data Science track, we’ll learn about collecting, cleaning, and analyzing data, applying statistical methods, and creating compelling visualizations that tell powerful stories. You’ll learn how to work with industry-standard tools such as Python, Pandas and Jupyter, and how to work with real-world data sets.
AI/Deep Learning
Artificial Intelligence is transforming the world — powering self-driving cars, voice assistants, medical breakthroughs, and the apps we use every day. But how does it actually work, and how can you use it? Starting with the basics of neural networks, you’ll progress through modern AI techniques including Convolutional Neural Networks for image recognition, Recurrent Neural Networks for sequence modeling, and Transformers for natural language processing. You’ll also explore cutting-edge areas like ML, generative AI, and real-world deployment practices.
Web Development
The web powers everything from personal blogs to the world’s largest tech platforms. You might have a good idea for an app yourself, but how do you go about building it? We’ll learn how to bring a website to life with HTML, CSS, and JavaScript. From there, you’ll dive into modern tools and frameworks like React, giving you the skills to create dynamic, user-friendly applications. We’ll also explore the back end with Node.js, Express, and MongoDB, learning how to build servers, connect to databases, and power full-stack applications. Along the way, you’ll practice essential skills like debugging, version control, and deploying real-world projects online.
Practical details
Sessions (online and offline) are every Monday evening. The calendar can be found here. The date of the starting session is final, all other sessions and their content are subject to change until September 1st.
Offline sessions are at the CIC (next to Rotterdam Central Station). Offline sessions are not mandatory, but we strongly encourage you to attend and get to know your mentors and teammates.

Cost of the program
The total cost for this 12-week program is only €99, and is payable at the time of registration. Why such a low price? TechPros runs entirely on volunteer efforts, and what we charge our learners is only used to cover the operating costs. Our mentors are passionate experts in their fields who have a strong drive to share their knowledge and experience with our learners and are looking to help out the next wave of tech professionals. We are all about community-led learning and building networks to shape the future of tech.

We’re looking for a Volunteer Data Science Mentor!
[Remote/In-person, 1-2 hours per week, Monday evenings]
At TechPros, learning isn’t a straight line — it’s a journey shaped by curiosity, collaboration, and community. Our learners build their own paths, combining curated resources with hands-on projects. Mentors like you help them turn that freedom into focus — guiding their learning roadmap, inspiring confidence, and sparking discovery.
As a Data Science Mentor, you’ll:
- Help learners make choices on learning topics based on their skills and ambitions
- Support exploration of data analysis, visualization, and machine learning
- Offer real-world insights from your experience with Python, Pandas, or other tools
- Collaborate with the TechPros team to evolve and improve the program for future cohort
